I began my career in the transportation field in Los Angeles before moving to Paso Robles in 1979 and transitioning into the hospitality industry, as general manager of the Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort.

I played a key role in transforming Sycamore Mineral Springs into a World Class Destination Spa Resort with over $10 million in annual sales and creating hundreds of local jobs. As Executive Vice President and part owner, I oversaw significant projects, including building a 550 foot pedestrian and golf cart bridge over Avila Beach Drive, getting entitlements and approval for a total of 100 rooms. In addition we acquired an additional Hotsprings and purchased a large parcel of land to develop Paso Robles Hotsprings off of Buena Vista Drive. In 2003, I joined King Ventures, managing developments like Fernwood Resort in Big Sur and Costanoa Resort a coastal resort north of Santa Cruz. Eventually, I established my own consulting business, focusing on construction projects and the hospitality industry.

Having raised our kids here in Paso, I have been very involved in our local schools. I was President of Learning Tree Coop Preschool, and President of the Parent Teacher Organization of Bauer Speck Elementary School and Flamson Middle School.I Was a youth basketball coach for 5 years and was fortunate enough to coach again in 2024 with an under 10 year old basketball team. I spent a great deal of time supporting my kids in their dreams to achieve success. I served as Chair and Co-Chair for both of my children for Safer and Sober Grad nite at Paso Robles High School.

Giving back to the community is deeply important to me. I am fortunate to have been able to serve in a number of volunteer roles for various community organizations and non-profits in our region. I was a founding member of the Sea Life Center, now known as the Central Coast Aquarium, and served for ten years as president of that board. In that role, I helped secure over 1.4 million dollars in grant money and oversaw all of the construction and development of the Sea Life Center facilities. I also have been a longtime member of the Paso Robles Rotary Club and led grassroots efforts to fund two community projects—the re-opening of the Centennial Pool and the Shade Structures for Uptown Park. I am actively supportive of the Paso Robles Boys and Girls Club and have been a longtime supporter of the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation, which provides resources to over 700 underserved youth in our community. I was a ten year volunteer for Main Street setting up events for Norma in the park. Lastly, I have been a longtime member of the Paso Robles Senior Advisory Committee, making sure that our seniors are receiving the support and services they need to thrive. Volunteering is part of being a Roblan and I am proud of all the work being done in our city to uplift all those in need.

In addition to my service on the City Council, I have held a number of appointed positions on various boards and commissions. I was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the Flood Zone 9 Advisory Committee and served as chair for six years. In that role, we were responsible for managing flood waters from Cuesta Grade to Avila Beach and ensuring the flood control system was adequately maintained. I served on Paso Robles Planning Commission from 2008 until my appointment to the Paso Robles City Council 2014. I have served on the Paso Robles City Council since then, having been elected to a full term in 2016 and reelected in 2020.
